Our unfilled PTFE rod and bar offer excellent chemical resistance, low friction, and electrical insulation for custom machined components. Made from polytetrafluoroethylene, the polymer commonly associated with the Teflon® brand, this material provides a nonstick surface and very low moisture absorption.
Suitable for turning, milling, and drilling, PTFE round bar can be machined into seals, gaskets, bushings, valve seats, spacers, and electrical insulators. Its resistance to a broad range of aggressive chemicals makes it useful for laboratory equipment, chemical processing systems, and fluid-handling assemblies.
Unfilled PTFE contains no reinforcing fillers. Its relatively soft structure suits conformable sealing components, although designs should account for creep under sustained loads.
