What is Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)?

PTFE is a fluoropolymer known for its exceptional chemical resistance, very low coefficient of friction, and excellent electrical insulation properties. It is made from the monomer tetrafluoroethylene, consisting of carbon and fluorine atoms. This is where PTFE gets its brand name, Teflon.

PTFE offers a distinctive combination of chemical resistance, low friction, thermal stability, and electrical insulation, making it suitable for demanding industrial applications. It withstands temperatures up to 500ºF and is highly resistant to UV radiation.
